Application of Intumescent Strips

Intumescent strips are mainly used around the edges of fire doors but can be installed around windows and regular doors as well. A fire door is only as strong as its weakest links and without intumescent strips surrounding the outside of the door, fire will be able to spread from room to room much quicker and easier.  

Strong Fire Resistance 

Intumescent strips are used in both 30-minute and 60-minute fire rated doors and are highly effective in delaying the fire and smoke spread allowing more time for safe evacuation and emergency response. The intumescent strips activate under extreme heat from fires, they expand and swell rapidly into a heat-resistant barrier closing off the gaps between the fire door and frame, maintaining fire door integrity during the fire. Hot flames and gasses are prevented from spreading through the building.
