Closed Cell Foam Tape (Buffer Strip)
Closed Cell Foam Tape (Buffer Strip)
Closed Cell Foam Tapes are designed for use in a variety of applications such as a weather seal around windows and doors to keep out the elements, or for use with glazed doors to reduce glass rattle thanks to its compressive properties. Closed Cell Foam Tape is known to be flexible with good tear and chemical resistance along with reasonable temperature resistance, making the tape suitable for many other internal and external sealing solutions and in fire door applications where insulated glass types have been tested (please refer to the glass manufacturer’s test certification).
Closed Cell Foam Tape Sizes available:
12mm x 4mm x 15m in black
15mm x 4mm x 15m in black

Unlike standard glazing tape, fire-rated glazing tapes are designed to withstand high temperatures during fire conditions, providing passive protection
Fire rated glazing tape is used to seal fire-resistant glass in windows, doors, partitions and walls where fire protection is required. Overall the fire rated glazing tape is designed to securely bond and seal fire-rated glass into framing systems, while maintaining the integrity of the fire rating.
Fire rated glazing tape is faster to apply, and provides instant adhesion without curing time. Sealants can be messier but may be more flexible in irregular joints. It depends on your requirements and the structural design.
Yes, most glazing tapes are weather resistant and this applies to fire rated glazing tapes too. Our fire rated glazing tapes can withstand UV exposure, rain, wind, fire & smoke
Fire-rated glazing seals typically contain intumescent materials that expand when exposed to fire temperatures creating an effective barrier against fire and smoke and preventing the spread.
Some glazing seals are designed to reduce sound transmission, particularly in acoustic glazing applications. They provide both fire rated sealing and sound damping properties.
Typically glazing seals with fire rated materials can achieve ratings from 30 minutes up to 120 minutes, depending on the seal formulation and application thickness
