Fire and Smoke Seal Extended Brush (8mm protruding) 20mm x 4mm x 2100mm.

Fire and Smoke Seal with an extended brush for applications where the gap between door and frame or meeting stiles are excessive. Self adhesive backing.

Available in black, brown and white.

Fire and smoke seals prevent the spread of fire and smoke by filling gaps between the fire doors and the door frame. Typically the smoke seals block smoke from spreading before the fire seals activate and provide the full passive protection.

Fire and smoke seals should be inspected every six months and damaged fire and smoke seals should be urgently replaced.

Installation of fire and smoke seals should be fitted around the edges of fire doors and the door frame to provide strong fire resistance and prevention of spreading.

Intumescent strips are fire resistant passive protection products. When exposed to extreme heat they are activated and expand to control & prevent the spread of fire. Intumescent strips provide passive protection through gaps around doors, fire doors, windows and cable/pipe access.

When exposed to fire the intumescent material in the strips activate that causes them to expand to 10 times their original thickness. This expansion fills gaps, cracks and prevents flames and hot gases from passing through and spreading.

Yes, intumescent strips should be inspected annually for damage or deterioration and gaps.

Intumescent strips expand 5-10 times their original thickness, and some can expand up to 20 times their original size to provide passive protection.
