Interdens (MAP) Intumescent Hinge Pads 100x30x1mm with S/A (pack of 100)
Fire door hardware must be fitted in a way that effectively ensures the fire-resisting properties of the door are not compromised.
In many instances, the recommendation is that ironmongery should be bedded in intumescent mastic or paste. At Noberne Seals, we believe that a quicker, easy-to-fit, cleaner and more accurate solution is to use shaped hinge pads of intumescent material (Mono Ammonium Phospate or MAP, commonly known as Interdens).
Also known as intumescent hinge packers, door hinge packers or hinge strips, we offer a range of kits designed for use with:
- Hinges
- Locks and latches
Hinge Protection Kits
These kits provide fire resistance of 30 or 60 minutes when fitted to full size door assemblies and tested in accordance with BS 476 Pt. 22.
Noberne Seals can also supply intumescent hinge pads protection kits for radius or square profile hinges.
Dimensions of these kits are as folllows:
100mm x 30mm x 1mm
The price displayed here is for 100 pieces with S/A (to ensure compliance hinge pads need to be fitted behind both the door hinge blade and the frame hinge blade, minimum of three hinges per single leaf doorset*).
*Always refer to door manufacturers test evidence for guidance.
Supplied in packs of 100
Other sizes/thicknesses or bespoke lock kits are available upon request, simply give us a call at 0113 271 3266 or email us at sales@noberneseals.com.
Fire door hinge pads are fire-resistant pads installed around fire door hinges. They seal the gaps around hinge recesses to maintain the fire integrity of the door and frame assembly, preventing fire and smoke from passing through these vulnerable areas.
No, When properly installed, fire door hinge pads should not interfere with normal door operation.
Fire door hinge pads are fire rated to match the fire door assembly they’re protecting. Typically fire door hinge pads are fire rated up to either 60,90,or 120 minutes. The hinge pad must be compatible with and tested as part of the complete fire door assembly to maintain the overall fire rating.
Most hinge pads are made from intumescent materials that expand when exposed to heat and some fire door hinge pads use a combination of materials to provide both fire resistance and smoke sealing protection.
