Therm-A-Glaze 45 Intumescent Glazing Seal – 10mm & 15mm x 2mm x 2100mm
Therm-A-Glaze 45 is a high-performance intumescent glazing seal designed for use in fire-rated glazed systems. Providing reliable expansion in the event of fire, it helps maintain the integrity of glazed fire doors and screens. Ideal for 30 minute fire protection applications.
Therm-A-Glaze 45 Intumescent Glazing Seal
Therm-A-Glaze 45 is an intumescent glazing seal designed for use around glass in fire-resistant timber doors and screens.
When exposed to fire, the intumescent material reacts to help protect the glazing system and maintain the integrity of the assembly.
Available in 10mm and 15mm widths, Therm-A-Glaze 45 is 2mm thick and supplied in convenient 2100mm lengths, allowing customers to select the appropriate size for their glazing application.
Available sizes:
- 10mm x 2mm x 2100mm
- 15mm x 2mm x 2100mm
Features & Benefits:
- Intumescent glazing seal
- Available in 10mm and 15mm widths
- 2mm thickness
- 2100mm lengths
- Designed for fire-resistant glazing applications
- Suitable for use with timber fire doors and screens
- Clean and straightforward installation
- Can be cut to the required length
- TS25
- Tested to BS 476
- Certifire certified
Important: The glass type, glazing beads, fixings, seal size and complete glazing configuration must correspond with the relevant fire test evidence or certification.
Fire-rated glazing systems are glass and framing assemblies designed to maintain integrity and prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and heat for up to 120 minutes.
With proper installation and maintenance, fire-rated glazing systems can last for up 10-15 years. The glass itself typically maintains its fire-resistant properties throughout its service life unless damaged.
Fire-rated glazing systems can withstand high temperatures without breaking or losing structural integrity. The frames are also designed with fire-resistant materials and sealing systems. Regular glazing/glass systems will typically shatter or fail within minutes of fire exposure, while fire-rated systems can maintain fire resistance for up to 120 minutes depending on their fire rating.
Fire-rated glazing seals typically contain intumescent materials that expand when exposed to fire temperatures creating an effective barrier against fire and smoke and preventing the spread.
Fire-rated glazing seals typically contain intumescent materials that expand when exposed to fire temperatures creating an effective barrier against fire and smoke and preventing the spread.
Typically glazing seals with fire rated materials can achieve ratings from 30 minutes up to 120 minutes, depending on the seal formulation and application thickness
Some glazing seals are designed to reduce sound transmission, particularly in acoustic glazing applications. They provide both fire rated sealing and sound damping properties.
