Intumescent Foams, Sealants & Mastics
Noberne Seals provide intumescent foams also known as fire rated foams, and intumescent sealants and intumescent fire mastics. Each type of foam, sealant and mastic contain materials which seal gaps, penetrations around doors, windows, and service cables to prevent fire and smoke spreading.
Intumescent Foams Fire Protection
Our collection of intumescent fire rated foams is designed to achieve a fire resistance period of up to 2 hours which is a key feature of the Blue 60 Fire Foam and Pyroplex PU Fire Rated Expanding Foam. These foams are great at sealing larger gaps and voids around penetrations of pipes, cables, and door frames. When applied to the gaps they expand and fill the gap cavities to provide a fire-resistant seal to prevent fire and smoke spreading when under fire conditions. Intumescent foams are a great option for openings and gaps where intumescent sealants and fire seals may not be able to be applied.
Durable Intumescent Sealants
Intumescent sealants are crucial to providing passive fire protection and they are crucial for preventing the spread of flames, smoke, and hot gasses throughout buildings. The intumescent material in these sealants expand when exposed to high heat, creating a dense barrier blocking the fire and smoke. The sealants are typically applied with a cartridge gun, and they require no surface preparation and dry quickly within two hours.
Fire Rated Fire Mastics
Fire mastics play a similar role to intumescent fire rated foams by providing passive fire protection through the creation of a thick barrier to seal small and inaccessible areas around doors and windows. It’s important to use the right sealant because fire can penetrate small gaps so making sure you use fire mastics in combination with other passive protection products will enhance the fire resistance. Fire mastics are easy to install and apply to the areas which require fire protection.
