Pyroglaze 60 seals are made of self-adhesive rigid pvc encapsulated strips of intumescent and provide proven 60 minute protection for glazed doors, screens and partitions.

In the event of fire, the intumescent swells to provide a seal within the glazing pocket and also reduces the risk of premature ignition of the glazing beads on the protected face.

The system is easily installed and can be used with virtually any size or shape door and glazed screen.

When used in conjunction with FD60 doors all glazed apertures should be fully lined with Pyrostrip 52mm x 2mm 100ECSA, prior to fixing the glazing beads.

  • Tested in conjunction with a wide variety of glass, including both integrity (E) and integrity/insulation (EI) glass types
  • Successfully assessed by numerous UK and international testing centres
  • Standard colours – black, white, cream, light and dark brown and slate grey
  • Non-standard colours available on request
  • Pyroglaze 60 is manufactured as 25mm x 3mm or 25mm x 4mm
  • Standard length – 2100mm
  • Non-standard lengths up to 3m available on request
  • Dry glazing system, no cleaning down after installation
  • Available as separate component or as part of a complete glazed system

25 x 3mm, supplied in 2100mm lengths.

Fire-rated glazing systems are glass and framing assemblies designed to maintain integrity and prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and heat for up to 120 minutes.

Fire-rated glazing systems can withstand high temperatures without breaking or losing structural integrity. The frames are also designed with fire-resistant materials and sealing systems. Regular glazing/glass systems will typically shatter or fail within minutes of fire exposure, while fire-rated systems can maintain fire resistance for up to 120 minutes depending on their fire rating.

With proper installation and maintenance, fire-rated glazing systems can last for up 10-15 years. The glass itself typically maintains its fire-resistant properties throughout its service life unless damaged.

Fire-rated glazing seals typically contain intumescent materials that expand when exposed to fire temperatures creating an effective barrier against fire and smoke and preventing the spread.

Some glazing seals are designed to reduce sound transmission, particularly in acoustic glazing applications. They provide both fire rated sealing and sound damping properties.

Typically glazing seals with fire rated materials can achieve ratings from 30 minutes up to 120 minutes, depending on the seal formulation and application thickness
